25 Colours Stockholm is Tina Oelker’s long-term painting programme, developed continuously since 2015. The programme unfolds through independent series of oil paintings that evolve over time while remaining connected through a shared painterly language. Each work stands on its own and at the same time contributes to a larger body of work. Rather than following a chronological order, the paintings are organised according to their relationships, allowing different moments of the programme to exist side by side. The online catalogue presents a selection of works currently available.
Born in 1973 in Westphalia, Tina Oelker is a German artist based in Hamburg. Her work has developed from an early engagement with figuration towards an increasingly open and autonomous language of abstraction. Her practice includes the long-term series 1000 Hasen (1000 Hares), the ongoing Painting Programme 25 Colours Stockholm and the large-scale work TOPIA. She studied art and design in New York City and Hamburg and has developed an independent artistic practice over more than three decades.
