Fem Färger / Five Colours is a mini-series consisting of five works, each measuring 70 × 60 cm. The titles of the individual paintings refer to the hand-lacquered float frame, which is conceptually part of the work. Three paintings from this sequence – like many works from the overall 25 Colours Stockholm program – evolved over a longer period of time, while two works are deliberately minimal. Here, Tina consciously raises the question of whether minimalism can truly exist without a wealth of lived experience behind it.

This painting also evolved in several stages. Between 2015 and 2023, Tina Oelker repeatedly returned to the composition until its present form emerged. The canvas is deliberately arched and reinforced with a crossbar to emphasize the convex surface – like a physical cradle in which the painting gathers and condenses. The work is finished with a satin‑matte varnish.

Dieses Bild entstand in mehreren Etappen. Über den Zeitraum von 2015 bis 2023 arbeitete Tina Oelker immer wieder an der Komposition, bis sich die heutige Form herauskristallisierte. Die Leinwand ist bewusst gewölbt und mit einem Querbalken versehen, um die konvexe Bildoberfläche zu betonen – wie eine körperliche „Wiege“, in der sich die Malerei sammelt und verdichtet. Das Bild ist mit einem mattseidenen Firnis abgeschlossen.

These two paintings were created in parallel and initially incorporate the green and red tones typical of Gucci, before consciously moving away from this idea. The pencil note ‘pink’ in a non-pink place is integrated here as a compositional element.

Diese beiden Bilder sind parallel entstanden und greifen zunächst die für Gucci typischen Grün- und Rottöne auf, um sich dann bewusst von dieser Idee zu lösen. Die Bleistiftnotiz „rosa“ an einer nicht-rosa Stelle ist hier als kompositorisches Element integriert.

These two paintings were created in parallel and initially incorporate the green and red tones typical of Gucci, before consciously moving away from this idea.. The subtly integrated pencil note „ain’t no clouds!“ complements the composition of Gugu N° 1.

„Heavy Runne“‚ evolved gradually over time. It originated in 2003 as a portrait-oriented piece for the ‚b-present‘ exhibition. In 2007, it underwent its first overpainting, and a decade later, it was completely reimagined as part of Oelker’s emerging new program. Since then, this oil painting has resided in Tina Oelker’s studio and has been featured in her book ‚Of Hares and Gods‘.

„Heavy Runner“ entstand Schritt für Schritt. Es begann 2003 als Hochformat als Teil der Ausstellung ‚b-present‘, wurde 2007 erstmals übermalt und dann 10 Jahre darauf im Zuge des neu entstehenden Programms vollständig erneuert. Das Ölgemälde befindet sich seitdem im Studio von Tina Oelker und ist im Buch ‚Von Hasen und Göttern‘ veröffentlicht.

This painting was created in 2003 as „Hand“ in the b-present series. In 2019, it was completely reworked. The deep sides and compact format make it an object painting. The title is generously sketched on the side.

In 2005, Tina Oelker created three portraits for her conceived exhibition „Mouth-to-Mouth Fertilization“. Ten years later, Tina overpainted two of these works with a monochrome blue tone and accentuated them with precise brush strokes. This transformation process resulted in the creation of two new paintings, of which „Speculo“ is one.

2005 schuf Tina Oelker drei Porträts für ihre konzipierte Ausstellung „Mund zu Mund Befruchtung“. Zehn Jahre später übermalte Tina zwei dieser Werke mit einem monochromen Blauton und akzentuierte sie mit präzisen Pinselstrichen. Dieser Transformationsprozess resultierte in der Entstehung von zwei neuen Bildern, von denen „Speculo“ eines ist.
