Description

With Hermes No. 3, I continue my long-standing exploration of Hermes as a figure of transition, movement, and transformation. The painting evolved over several years, beginning in 2012 under the working title Face Off before reaching its final form in 2020. Like many works within 25 Colours Stockholm, it preserves traces of earlier stages, allowing different moments of its development to remain visible. Hermes No. 3 later became the cover image of my book Von Hasen und Göttern (2021), extending the dialogue between painting, mythology, and reflection.
