Hermes N° 3 is part of a three-piece series on the theme of Hermes. The work went through several stages of development, beginning in 2012 under the working title „Face off“. The final version was created in 2020 and reflects a conceptual evolution that is thematically addressed in my book „Von Hasen und Göttern“ (Of Rabbits and Gods) (2021). The painting serves as the cover image for the book and is in direct dialogue with my artistic exploration of the figure of Hermes.

Hermes N° 3 ist Teil einer dreiteiligen Serie zum Thema Hermes. Das Werk durchlief mehrere Entwicklungsstufen, beginnend 2012 unter dem Arbeitstitel „Face off“. Die finale Version entstand 2020 und reflektiert eine konzeptuelle Weiterentwicklung, die in meinem Buch „Von Hasen und Göttern“ (2021) thematisch aufgegriffen wird. Das Gemälde dient als Umschlagbild des Buches und steht in direktem Dialog mit meiner künstlerischen Auseinandersetzung mit der Figur des Hermes.
